Four 19th century antique Japanese sometsuke (blue underglaze) plates hand painted with a scene of a man crossing a bridge with mountains in the background, with written characters to the side, which may be a poem. 6 7/8" across. One has an old repair to a chip on the underside. The others are free of cracks and chips, have some minor manufacturing pits and bumps.
