This little fellow has been around for the better part of 200 years, and has the bumps and bruises to prove it. C. 1810-30 marked John Walton Staffordshire pottery figurine depicting a bread seller with a basket in one arm. He leans against a tree stump with sculpted tree rings rather than the more often seen leafy bocage background. Measures 7" tall. He has the Walton banner with serifs on bottom base.
Condition: his free arm was broken and glued back. There appears to be an area of early restoration on his back, an old shallow chip on his other arm, a chip on his hat, and an old graze on his nose. Please view all photos. Sold as is.
A charming early figure 180-200+ years old.
