Darling and unusual Staffordshire figurine of a young organ grinder and his pet monkey. Sculpted and painted in the round, it has sometimes been attributed to the Thomas Parr factory. The boy is seated with his hand on his hurdy gurdy and the little monkey in the crook of his arm. He wears a neckerchief and lace up shoes. There are bocage chipped accents. 7 1/8" tall; base is is 3 1/2" x 3". There are no cracks or chips. There is a firing line under the boy's left foot from time of manufacture. Because it is cold painted, there is some chipping to the paint.
